Gaming Facts – What is Gaming?

What is gaming? A video game or computer program is an electronic program or video display system that includes interaction with a user interface or external input device, for example a joystick, mouse, keyboard, or touch screen device, to produce visual feedback to the user. Gaming occurs through the interaction of the user with the video display system or the computer system. In computer programs, a gamer would typically perform actions (making choices) by clicking on commands within the text-based user interface. Gaming methods may include anything from active participation in the gaming environment, such as sitting in front of a game console and actively participating in the game in order to achieve objectives, to passively playing the game via a wired or wireless device such as a laptop or mobile phone.

Now, we are going to take a look at some of the most popular genres of online games: Strategy and Fighting, Role Playing, Anime, Comics, Casual Games, Strategy, Sports, and Virus Games. It should be noted that not all genres of games are available across all platforms, and what might be available on one platform may not be available on another. But I wanted to start out with some of the more general and fun facts about gaming. Let’s take a look at the most popular types of gaming:

Mobile gaming, or as I like to call it, “mobile apps gaming,” includes everything from card games, puzzles, brain teasers, word games, sports games, and games like ” Doodle Jump” and “ometry.” Mobile gaming apps are increasing in popularity as users move their personal computing devices closer to the mobile phone. The biggest explosion in mobile gaming came with the release of “EA Sports Active,” which was an iPhone App that let you use your iPhone to play a variety of sports games, including soccer, baseball, basketball, boxing, NASCAR racing, and more. Another big game maker, Toto, released a game called “Moto Hero” that let users tap into their favorite hero’s moves and use them in game play. There are tons of other mobile gaming apps being released all the time. I’m sure there are lots of gaming apps you’ve never heard of!
