The Four Main Aspects of Good Health
Health is a condition of mental, physical and emotional well being where infirmity and illness are absent. There are various definitions used over the years for different purposes. Some experts define health as having a capacity to enjoy life to the fullest, having well developed physical and mental skills, having good self-concept, having self-respect and having good relationships. Health is also about respecting one’s health and being responsible for one’s health.
The third definition is self-concept, which implies that self-concept is a set of positive beliefs about yourself and your health. It is a belief in yourself as capable of living healthy and happily even if you experience certain disorders or diseases. Positive beliefs are very essential for maintaining good health. This also implies that a person with a positive view of him/herself also has a positive attitude to other people, thereby helping them to cure their respective diseases.
The fourth definition is a healthful lifestyle, which means a well-balanced diet and a physically active life. Healthful diet includes a well-balanced diet of food and nutrients rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins to keep the body in good working condition. A physically active lifestyle includes exercise and a balanced diet to keep the body physically fit. A combination of the above two can help in keeping the body and mind in good working condition and hence can lead to the prevention of diseases and infirmities.
